Why no two teams use Business Essentials the same way

The KvK Scanner, our first app, passed 100 installs. It's retiring on 1 November, and its successor, Leapware Business Essentials, has just passed 20. You'd expect the bigger number to teach you more. So far, it's the other way round.

#### Mature products get edge-case feedback

Once a product has been around for a while, the feedback changes. People have shaped their process around it. They ask for a field here, a fix there. Useful, but it tells you little about how they actually work.

#### New products get the real story

Early adopters haven't settled yet. When they set up Business Essentials, they tell you what they're really trying to do. And the first thing that stood out: no two of them use it the same way.

- One team matches every new company to the KvK as soon as it's created.
- Another only retrieves fresh data just before a deal moves to the next stage.
- A third checks the registered BAG address before the first invoice goes out, so finance never sends it to the wrong office.

#### Why that shaped the product

That variety is exactly why Business Essentials runs on HubSpot workflow actions, Automatch company and Retrieve new data, rather than one fixed sync. You decide when verified KvK and BAG address data lands on the company record, and you only spend credits when your process needs it.

#### The lesson

Every business is different and has its own use cases. A good app doesn't force one way of working; it fits into yours. Twenty installs in, that's the most useful thing we've learned, and we'll keep listening.
